Many of you may have already heard about the High School Baseball Classic via the Washington Post or through Comcast Cable PSAs, or just because you are a baseball fan.  This year, 4 DC high school teams (two private schools and two public schools) will compete for the championship title.   Tickets to the days events are FREE for all youth and their chaperones.   All proceeds will go to youth clubs of DC.

The games will be played at NATIONALS PARK on Saturday, May 31, 2008.  The games will begin at 9:30 am, with the first game between the Maret School Varsity against St. Alban’s Varsity.  The second game features the Wilson High School Varsity against McKinley Tech Varsity at 12:30 pm.  During the afternoon, the All Star game will be played.  The all star game will feature players from EVERY varsity baseball team in DC, with the exception of Gonzaga and St. John’s.  The final event of the evening is the Championship game which will feature the winners of the two morning games.   The championship game will be televised on both MASN and Comcast, followed by fireworks and all of the trappings of a professional game.
